Windows Systems Engineer (level 3)

Within Technical Services Distributed Systems - team Windows Engineering - we are looking for a System Engineer.

Role:

• Contribution to and validation of technical design, Test and Launch scenario's in the context of IT initiatives, ranging from large strategic programmes to smaller projects.
• Assuming ownership responsibility for products and technologies, implemented or to be considered in our state of the art IT environment. Product ownership includes: Research and building strategy; Define and document improvement; Validate the implementation; Ensure support (Documentation, Procedures, Contracts); Monitoring (alerting, performance, capacity).
• Collaborate with the Technical Domain Owner for the Windows domain in providing guidance and support within the assigned area (of product ownership).
• Performing technical prototyping for new (and new versions of) products and technologies.
• 3rd Line production support (including on-call watch-duty outside normal business hours: approximately 7 weeks/year).

Experience:

At least 3 to 5 years of IT experience (at least 2 in an IT Systems Engineering environment)

Knowledge:

Profound knowledge in the following areas:

• Windows Server operating systems
• Directory Services MS Active Directory (Security structure, GPOs, ADAM..)
• IP Networking: DNS, WINS, DHCP
• File and Print services
• Various: Software distribution, Antivirus (MCAfee), Backup (Tivoly Storage Manager), Scripting (Powershell, VBS, Perl), Remote control,
• Computer Hardware (Rackable, Blades, management tooling): HP, IBM, Dell, FSC

Knowledge in the following areas is a benefit:

• EMC Storage
• HP Storage
• Virtualisation (VMWare, MS HyperV)
• Monitoring (NetIQ)
