Datacenter Operations Officer / Physical Planner

Brussels (near Central Station)

Description:

Perform several First Level tasks for which flexibility is needed.

• Admission to Equipment rooms
• Receive and check the deliveries for the Equipment rooms
• Checking of D2d business and perform tasks to restore, within the task area, any deviation of the D2D business
• Administrative updating of IT equipment in the central database (PAC)
• Guarding and adjusting activities in the equipment rooms (cleaning, on-site check, security, access)

Perform several Second Level tasks for which initiative, annalistic thinking and a high level of communication skills are needed.

• Organizing of coordination meetings with the customers to guarantee the performance of services and the continuity.
• Act in case of disturbance of the production process. Consultation with experts and together with the parties involved, investigate, and analyze the offered solutions to avoid future problems. Participate in projects. Support IT or other technicians during the installation of newly build architectures.
• Defining and coordinate steps and means during projects.
• Coordinate complex task, like system and architecture analysis.
• Joining projects during all stages of a project (design, implement, maintain, etc)
• Coordinate and organize the distribution of project information
• Joining workgroups. Keep up the knowledge in the department's speciality. Both in function and technical

Knowledge:

• Education: Engineer industrial IT or Bachelor IT with experience
• Autonomous, but you are also able to work in team
• Result driven and delivery focused
• Self-sufficient and able to analyze and understand complex issues.
• Mandatory: Good knowledge of Datacenter environments; (power, cooling), cabling types and specifications for copper (CAT5 CAT6) as well as fiber (multimode, single mode), arrangement of 19”racks.
• Good knowledge about Datacenters, equipment rooms and IT equipment.
• Preferable: ITIL knowledge
• Functional experience required

Language:

Sound knowledge of English and Dutch or French. (second language has to be English)

Duration:

12 months with possible extension.
