QA Engineer

Description:

• Work with members of project teams to determine the needs for testing for assigned projects
• Review requirements and design documents in order to create test plans and test cases.
• Execute test cases on assigned projects according to the schedule
• Work with QA automation engineers to determine needs for test automation
• Execute automated tests for regression, data setup, and new functionality
• Partner with the QA Manager to enhance test case management to support automated testing
• Report test progress, test results, and defect metrics for assigned projects.

Required Skills:

• 3+ years test engineering experience in an environment which heavily utilizes test automation.
• Familiarity with test management tools, including test case management, defect tracking, and requirements traceability
• Detail-oriented with a passion for finding defects in software.
• Strong understanding of automation frameworks such as data driven, keyword, etc.
• Successful communication skills, both written and oral
• Deep understanding of software development methodologies, including agile
• Knowledge of release management processes and how the QA process fits within it
• Technical QA experience with testing a variety of applications, including web, mainframe, and client/server
• Proven record of driving toward results and delivering projects on time and on budget
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in computer science or other technical field. Advanced technical degree desired, but not required.
• Ability to travel occasionally
• Self-starter with high level of comfort working in an ambiguous environment.
